HOW WILL MY DIVORCE SETTLEMENT AFFECT ME FINANCIALLY?
By: Darcie J. Kinsey, CDFA™

This is a question many separated spouses should be asking and unfortunately, not enough do. Different settlement scenarios will have different financial consequences, both short and long term. Wouldn't it be nice to have an idea as to how your financial future could play out? Enter the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™.

So, what exactly is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™?

Simply put, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ or “CDFA™” is a specially trained financial professional who will examine how various property and support settlement scenarios will affect both your short and long term financial future. Financial issues relating to divorce such as division of the matrimonial home, businesses, pensions, investments, spousal support, child support, debt and other financial matters are reviewed and analyzed. A CDFA™ will review the results with you and also explain the tax consequences of each settlement scenario.

A CDFA™ makes a valuable addition to your family law team.

For legal advice, always consult a lawyer and before making any decisions regarding your financial future, consult a CDFA™.

Darcie Kinsey is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ with nearly 20 years of experience as a Paralegal, primarily in family law.
